Re: Engagement of 239 Trade Apprentices at Steel Authority of India Limited –
IISCO Steel Plant, Burnpur
Online applications are invited for enrollment to Apprenticeship Training for a period
of one year at SAIL IISCO Steel Plant Burnpur, as Trade Apprentice in line with the
Apprenticeship Act 1961.
The notable points are as follows –
1. Eligibility for Enrollment -
a) Any Indian citizen who has completed his ITI from a government recognized
institute, in the specified TRADE (full time regular course only) and completed in the last three years (passed out in 2020 or after) can apply.
b) Candidates whose “contract ID” has already been created in line with the Apprenticeship Act 1961, during their apprenticeship training at some other organizations are not eligible.
c) The candidate should be minimum of 18 years and maximum of 28 years, as on
01.04.2023. A relaxation in upper age is admissible as per Govt. of India guidelines for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS.
2. Tentative Number of Seats -
A total of 239 Trade Apprentices in the following branches will be engaged as per following details -
Additionally, there will also be a provision for separate merit list as “waiting list” which
will be 10% of the total seats. The waiting list applicants will be called for only when there is a shortfall in the joining.
3. Selection Process -
The candidates will be selected on the basis of their marks obtained during ITI, in the
specified category & trade. In case there is a tie between the applicants in their
aggregate marks, the older candidate will be given the preference.
a) Start date of application: from the date of notification
b) Closing date for online application: 29.04.2023 (Saturday)
4. Duration of Training -
The duration of training will be one year from the date of Contract creation &
contract would be terminated automatically after completion of apprenticeship training period. Shortlisted candidates have to give notorised the undertaking that after completion of training they will not demand for employment.
5. How to Apply -
Candidates are advised to carefully read the full advertisement/notification for details of educational qualifications & other eligibility criteria before submission of online application.
a) Candidates, who are applying through NAPS portal, will be considered for the above-mentioned vacancy.
b) Candidates are advised to register as a student online on NAPS portal
c) Valid registration number created on National Apprenticeship Promotion scheme (NAPS) portal is compulsory to apply for the above positions. After registering oneself, one can login into the home page of NAPS portal as candidate then go to “Apprenticeship opportunities” and then click find establishments. Candidate should select SAIL IISCO STEEL PLANT, Burnpur (E03171900012) to apply in passed out trade of ITI against vacancies appearing on the portal.
6. Stipend – Rs 7000-7700/Month (in line with the act,1961). Apprentices are expected to arrange for their accommodation and other related arrangements, on their own.
7. Medical facilities – Company will provide the facilities as per the provisions of
Workmen compensation act in line with the apprenticeship act.
8. General Instructions -
a) The candidates are advised to submit the online application well in advance
without waiting for the closing dates.
b) The candidates are advised in their own interest to apply for only one trade that best fits with the candidate’s qualification viz –a-viz the advertised eligibility criteria .
c) The candidature of applicant would be provisional & subject to subsequent verification of certificates & testimonials. In case, it is detected at any stage of engagement or thereafter, that a candidate doesn’t fulfill the eligibility norms & or/that he has furnished any incorrect/false information/ certificate/ documents or has suppressed any document/fact, his / her candidature will stand cancelled.
d) This is only an opportunity for getting trained for improving employability of the candidates & there is no scope for employment in SAIL – ISP, Burnpur after completion of apprenticeship training nor can an apprentice can claim the right of employment on the grounds of completion of apprenticeship.
